This hands-on workshop introduces photographers to various composition techniques and visuals to help improve their composition skills and storytelling in a photo.

During the workshops, I will share and explain various compositions that you can apply to your photography to make it more powerful.

The ability to see (and foresee) the photographic potential of a scene and assemble those visual elements into a cohesive whole using a camera and lens is one of the skills crucial to making remarkable photographs.

If you want to photograph a series of waterfalls on the icefields parkway, I know a few. Once you master how to photograph waterfalls and the challenges of photographing them, you will apply that knowledge to your next photographic outings unless you are already an expert and don’t care about improving your photography skills. We will photograph Tangle Falls, and after, we will move to Beauty Creek Falls. When returning to Calgary, there will be more photography opportunities; this is your photography day to learn, practice, learn, practice and repeat.

What is for lunch? We will stop for lunch at Sask Crossing on our return to Calgary – lunch is paid for. I will provide individual water bottles and snacks. Some of my superb baking!

What to Bring:
FRESH Batteries
Tripod
Lenses – wide and telephoto
MUST HAVE ND filters – 3 stop, 6 stop or a 10 stop
Remote –

If you think this workshop is not for you, that is great, but you will miss out on how to improve your photography, and you will continue to be disappointed with your photography and be a subpar photographer.

The group is limited to 4 as I want the learning to be amazing, and I can answer your questions.

To help with your composition skills, I will provide a series of exercises to create your photo.

I have posted a few images from the location, and your creativity is endless. Creativity is great, but SAFETY is #1! A safety talk will occur before we start shooting.

I will provide a day’s schedule when you have registered and paid your deposit.

What happens if it rains? Photography does not only happen with it is sunny, no wind, etc. Best photos are taken when the weather is not at its best.

What to wear: Don’t wear shorts, a swimsuit, sandals, you know what I mean. You MUST dress for the unexpected change in weather.
